Two gunmen were killed in an attack by Al-Nusra Front

The Syrian army managed to eliminate a number of militants and wound others, most of them foreign nationals, during violent clashes between units of the Syrian army and an armed group that tried to infiltrate towards one of the army’s positions south of Idlib.
An official field source said that an armed group affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the current front of the terrorist organization “Jabhat al-Nusra”, tried to infiltrate one of the Syrian army’s positions in the southern countryside of Idlib.
The source added that the Syrian army’s reliance on advanced ambushes and monitoring and reconnaissance operations led to the discovery of this group early in the attack, and violent clashes erupted with it.
The source explained, “The artillery and missile forces in the army supported the forces operating on the ground by targeting the militants’ rear supply lines, which facilitated the process of confronting the attack and prevented the arrival of military reinforcements for Al-Nusra Front to the area.”
The source continued, “The attack was completely thwarted after at least 8 militants were killed and others were wounded without changing the map of control,” indicating that this type of attack is expected, especially since the Syrian army monitored, during the past few days, movements of militants from several axes in Idlib countryside towards Jabal Al-Zawiya in the south.
