Including Emirati Companies… Washington Adds Several Firms to Its Sanctions List

The U.S. Department of Commerce issued a statement announcing the addition of several companies to the U.S. sanctions list.
According to an official document published by the Bureau of Industry and Security within the department, 70 companies from China, Pakistan, Iran, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates have been included in the list.
The list includes Huawei and HiSilicon, which were already under sanctions, along with 42 Chinese companies, including research institutes accused of developing hypersonic weapons, quantum technologies, and supplying products to the Chinese military.
Additionally, 19 Pakistani companies were added due to their alleged links to the country’s nuclear and missile programs. The list also includes two Iranian companies, three South African firms, and four UAE-based companies, all accused of cooperating with Chinese military institutions.
The U.S. Department of State clarified that these companies operate against the national security and foreign policy interests of the United States.
Moreover, the Department of Commerce has mandated that U.S. companies obtain a special license for any exports to the listed entities, with the assurance that these license applications will be reviewed under a “presumption of denial.”
