U.S. Food Distribution Plan in Gaza

An Israeli security source told the Hebrew-language site i24NEWS that the implementation of the U.S. food distribution plan in Gaza has been postponed for several days, despite being scheduled to launch next week. The delay is attributed to shortages in equipment and logistical difficulties.

The source added that “defensive preparations have been agreed upon, and the budget issue has been resolved,” noting that the so-called “sterile area,” a zone designated for aid distribution under strict security supervision, will not be operational during the initial phase of the plan but will be activated later.

According to the U.S. plan for food distribution in Gaza, one representative from each small family will be permitted to enter the designated “hotlines” for aid after registering their details through relief organizations. Each family representative will receive a food package sufficient to meet basic needs. Israeli authorities will monitor the movement of people entering and exiting these centers, with the possibility of allowing stays in “safe zones” within the centers at a later stage.
