UAE Modifies American Combat Helicopter for Firefighting Use

During the IDEX and NAVDEX 2025 exhibitions in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates showcased a modified version of the American Black Hawk combat helicopter, repurposed for rapid firefighting operations and integration into civil defense. The aircraft has already undergone multiple training programs, demonstrating significant efficiency.

The helicopter is equipped with a fire suppression system, an 85-gallon water tank, and a 40-meter water cannon directed at fires. Additionally, it features a water-dropping system designed for forest fire suppression.

One of its most notable advantages is its ability to operate in remote areas and high-rise buildings. Moreover, it does not need to land for water refills, as it can refill its tank mid-air using a water suction hose, capable of drawing 1,000 gallons per minute from an altitude of 12 miles.
