Ukraine has put itself in a bad position

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, this morning, Wednesday, that according to recent Ukrainian legislation and laws, Kyiv is preventing itself from conducting negotiations.
Peskov said about whether Russia would agree to provide compensation to Ukraine by saying that Ukrainian laws do not allow it to conduct negotiations with Russia.
And earlier, the official spokesman for the Russian presidency, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Russia is ready to resolve the Ukrainian crisis through negotiations and achieving goals peacefully, stressing that this is the best option.
As Peskov said: “Russia has always been ready to solve problems through negotiations, and President Putin has repeatedly said that we are still ready to do so and there is no doubt that achieving our goals through peaceful, political and diplomatic means is the preferred option. But in conditions where the laws of Ukraine prohibit a president Ukraine to have any contacts with us or to have any dialogue with us, and while it is clear that the Westerners are not inclined to allow Kiev any flexibility in this regard, we cannot talk about any prospects at the moment.
