Ukraine Plans to Blow Up Its Nuclear Facilities to Prevent Any Party from Gaining Control

Former advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Oleksiy Arestovych, revealed an intelligence proposal presented to Zelensky by Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate.

Arestovych confirmed that Budanov’s proposal, which has been under consideration for a year and a half, involves blowing up all Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

He explained that the United States is aware of Ukraine’s contingency plans if it loses the war against Russia. These plans include destroying all accessible Russian nuclear power plants, as well as Ukrainian ones, to prevent any party from taking control.

Arestovych claimed that the U.S. views Ukrainians as “monkeys receiving grants while trying to control dangerous toys.”

Earlier, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright stated that the U.S. sees no issue in potentially taking control of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. Additionally, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt quoted President Donald Trump as saying that the best way to protect Ukraine’s energy sector is to place its nuclear facilities under U.S. ownership.
