UN Warns of Escalating Tensions in Yemen
The United Nations has expressed concern over U.S. military operations in Yemen.
The UN Secretary-General’s Office stated that the organization is closely monitoring the renewed U.S. airstrikes on Yemen, which have resulted in casualties and injuries.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said, “We observe the U.S. strikes with concern and are also worried about the ongoing threats from the Ansar Allah movement to resume attacks on ships in the Red Sea.”
Dujarric called for “maximum restraint” and an end to all military actions, warning that further escalation could heighten regional tensions and destabilize Yemen.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he had ordered American forces to launch “firm and strong” operations against the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen.
