Victims as Severe Storms Sweep Across Multiple U.S. States

Several states in the central and southern United States have reported casualties in the past hours due to a massive storm that swept across vast areas, leaving behind significant destruction and numerous fatalities.

According to the Associated Press, U.S. officials confirmed at least 32 deaths across multiple states due to severe weather conditions caused by the storm. Social media footage and local news outlets showed multiple building collapses and overturned large trucks due to strong winds. Authorities have warned that these conditions may persist through the weekend.

Missouri state police announced that they are working to assist residents and assess the damage caused by fallen trees and power poles, in addition to damage to residential and commercial buildings. Some areas were severely affected by the powerful winds, thunderstorms, and large hailstones, prompting the state governor to declare a state of emergency.

Meanwhile, Agence France-Presse reported that local authorities in Texas confirmed four fatalities in traffic accidents linked to the storms due to heavy dust and fires that reduced visibility on the roads. Additionally, three more deaths and around 29 injuries were reported in neighboring Arkansas.
