Warning from the Saudi Embassy in Egypt

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo issued, today, Monday, an important warning to citizens of the Kingdom in Egypt.
By referring to the regulatory controls regarding residence in Egypt, the embassy noted the necessity of registering the data of resident citizens who have resided in Egypt for more than 6 months with the General Administration of Passports and Nationality, in order to obtain residence cards for them, within a maximum period of 6/30/2024.
The embassy also alerted, in a statement it described as “important,” to the necessity of carrying the residence card as proof of identity during the citizen’s movements within Egypt, and to cooperate in presenting it to the Egyptian authorities upon request.
This warning comes days after the case of the disappearance of Saudi citizen Hanan Shata in Egypt, which preoccupied public opinion. The authorities later announced the discovery of his body, ruling out the existence of a criminal suspicion, as his death came as a result of the repercussions of his health conditions, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.
