Will the Resumption of War on Gaza Lead to a New Regional Escalation? Angry Arab Reactions

The latest Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of 412 people and injured more than 500 others, according to a preliminary toll from the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Rescue teams continue efforts to retrieve victims and wounded individuals from under the rubble in various parts of the Strip.

Several Arab countries have condemned the Israeli military operations, warning of the consequences of violating the ceasefire agreement and its impact on the stability of the entire region.

In one of the most prominent reactions, Saudi Arabia called on the international community to intervene immediately to halt the attacks on Palestinian civilians. Egypt, for its part, described the airstrikes as a flagrant violation of the truce agreement and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability, demanding an immediate cessation of military operations.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan reaffirmed the country’s “three no’s” (no to displacement, no to resettlement, no to an alternative homeland), condemning the Israeli bombardment and calling on the U.S. administration to intervene to stop it. The Palestinian presidency stressed the need for immediate international action to put an end to Israel’s actions.

In Doha, the Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned the airstrikes, calling them a “blatant challenge to international will,” warning that Israeli escalation could destabilize the entire region. It emphasized the importance of resuming dialogue to implement the ceasefire agreement.

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit described the resumption of Israeli airstrikes as “an act devoid of humanity” and a “challenge to international will,” calling for a return to negotiations aimed at reaching a final end to the war.

In Sanaa, the Supreme Political Council of Ansar Allah reaffirmed Yemen’s support for Gaza, announcing continued assistance in confronting Israel.

These developments come amid growing fears of broader regional escalation, as military operations continue and the humanitarian situation in Gaza worsens.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that the operations are being carried out under political directives and are targeting sites affiliated with Hamas across Gaza. For its part, Hamas accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “reneging” on the ceasefire agreement and evading commitments, calling on Arab and Islamic nations, as well as freedom-loving people around the world, to protest the resumption of war.
