World food prices rise at record rate

The United Nations Food Agency confirmed that the world’s food price rate rose significantly in 2022 and reached previously unprecedented records that increased the risk of food insecurity in the world.
“The food price index rose 14.3% in 2022, setting a record high,” the UN food agency said.
The year 2022 saw inflation rise dramatically, reaching a 40-year high in the United States and Europe, and the Russian-Ukrainian War affected grain exports, significantly increasing prices globally.
