The management of platform “X” has removed verification indicators, including the blue and gray checkmarks, from several official accounts affiliated with the Syrian government, without issuing any official statement regarding the reasons for this action.

The decision affected official accounts such as the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministries of Defense, Information, and Foreign Affairs, as well as the account of Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Hassan Abdel Ghani, and several other accounts linked to the Syrian government.

This move has sparked mixed reactions and raised questions about its motives, especially as the decision was implemented collectively and without prior announcement from the platform’s management.
