10 new countries “violating freedoms” are on the Washington list

In its annual ranking, the United States placed 10 countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, Iran and North Korea, among the countries that are a source of concern in the field of religious freedoms.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in a tweet on Twitter, said: “Today, the United States classifies each of: (Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan), recognized as a country of concern under the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act for its systematic, continuous and gross violations of religious freedom.

Adding, “The United States is unwavering in its commitment to religious freedom … No state or entity should be allowed to pursue people because of their beliefs.”
