On Sunday, the German capital, Berlin, witnessed a mass demonstration organized by members of the Syrian community in Germany to protest the recent violence in cities and villages of Syria’s coastal region. The demonstration also saw participation from foreign supporters, alongside a Turkish-Syrian community from Hatay Province (Iskenderun district).

March Route and Key Demands

• Protesters gathered in front of the Turkish embassy, then marched on foot toward the Syrian embassy, carrying pictures of victims of military operations in Tartous and Latakia.
• Demonstrators accused extremist armed factions operating under the New Syrian Army and the Ministry of Defense, holding them directly responsible for the ongoing events.
• Protesters chanted slogans calling for civilian protection and an end to military actions, describing the situation as a serious violation of human rights.
• The demonstrators demanded the formation of an independent international committee to investigate these incidents and prevent further military escalation in the region.

Rising Death Toll Amid Calls for International Intervention

According to estimates from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the civilian death toll has risen to 973 since the military operation began two days ago, raising international concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria’s coastal region.
