In the Heart of Damascus: Israeli Blogger Documents Eli Cohen Execution Site – Video
Israeli blogger Avi Gold released a video on social media showing his visit to Marjeh Square in Damascus, where Israeli agent Eli Cohen was executed in 1965. The video circulated on TikTok and showed Gold walking around the area.

Gold takes advantage of the possibility for Syrians of Jewish descent to enter the syrian capital or for Israelis to use non-Israeli passports, as Syrian authorities still prohibit entry for holders of Israeli passports. In previous visits, Gold shared clips of himself tasting ice cream, describing it as “better than what is available in Israel.”
In another clip in central Damascus, he addressed his followers while showing the city through the rear camera, accompanied by a group of individuals of various nationalities, some of whom are believed to be of Jewish heritage based on clothing.
