Bazhikian: De-escalation in the Middle East… Message to Those Who Ignited the War

Bazhikian warns against underestimating the Iranian people as de-escalation in the Middle East begins

Iranian President Masoud Bazhikian stated that “some countries have begun mediation attempts” to support de-escalation in the Middle East, emphasizing that Tehran is open to these efforts.

In a post on the X platform, Bazhikian stressed that Iran’s response to any mediation is “clear,” saying: “We are committed to lasting peace in the region, but we do not hesitate for a moment to defend the dignity and sovereignty of our country.”

He added that “the true addressees of the mediation should be those who ignited the flames through their disregard for the Iranian people,” in reference to the United States and Israel.

Bazhikian’s statements come days after an unprecedented military escalation, during which the United States and Israel conducted wide-scale airstrikes on Iran, and Tehran retaliated by targeting Israel and U.S. bases in the region.
