 Trump stated that inflation in drug prices has reached high levels, adding that previous presidents attempted to address the issue without success.

He said his administration would take steps to end the increase.

U.S. President Donald Trump said in his State of the Union address before Congress that “in less than five months, our country will celebrate Independence Day,” adding, “Our nation is bigger, better, richer and stronger than ever before.”

He stated: “Today our borders are secure and we will achieve better and better and better results. This is the golden age of America,” adding, “We will not go back to where we were.”

Trump said: “I inherited a real crisis with a stagnant economy, record inflation and wide open borders,” and “We have not allowed any illegal migrant to enter the United States over the past nine months.”

He added that he “inherited wars and chaos around the world,” and said a “historic transformation” was achieved after one year in office.

Trump stated that “deadly fentanyl flowing across our borders declined by a record 56% in one year,” and that more Americans are employed than at any point in history.

He said: “Our oil production increased by more than 600,000 barrels and our new partner Venezuela supplied us with more than 80 million barrels,” adding that the murder rate saw the largest recorded drop last year.

Trump said: “The Biden administration and its allies in Congress caused the worst inflation rate in our nation’s history,” and that “Washington, D.C. is now one of the safest cities in the United States.”

He added: “Congress passed, at my urging, the largest tax cuts in American history.”

Trump said he used tariffs to generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue and concluded multiple trade deals.

He described the Supreme Court ruling on tariffs as “very unfortunate,” adding: “The day will come when tariffs will replace income taxes.”
