Egyptian Government: No Timeline for the War and Warning of Failure to Achieve Objectives
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt is continuously monitoring the implications of ongoing military escalation in the region, referring to the conflict between the United States and Iran, and its potential repercussions on Egypt, emphasizing that monitoring is conducted continuously across various levels.
During a press conference, Madbouly explained that there are no clear international expectations regarding the timeline for the end of the war between the U.S. and Iran, noting that it could continue for an extended period. He added that the government does not follow a reactive policy and has prepared several scenarios months in advance to address potential developments.
He noted that Egypt took action from the outset of the crisis through political efforts to contain regional escalation and prevent the conflict from widening, as part of diplomatic measures aimed at mitigating the repercussions on the region.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Egypt is not isolated from developments in the region, and that the ongoing Iranian conflict will have extensive regional and international implications, stressing that the conflict will not achieve the objectives of any party, and could instead exacerbate crises and increase instability.
