Elbit-UAE deal: 45 Hermes 900 drones and 6,000 guided bombs in a secret deal worth $1.3 billion
Leaked documents from Israeli defense company Elbit Systems, published by hackers allegedly linked to Iranian intelligence, have revealed advanced arms deals between Israel and the UAE, including strategic drones and guided bomb systems, at a time when the region is engaged in a war against Iran.
According to an investigation by Haaretz, the hackers gained access to the personal email account of a senior company official and published classified correspondence regarding the supply of advanced defense systems, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes of the evolving security relations between the two countries.
Hermes 900 drones deal worth $1.3 billion
The documents indicate that the UAE requested an urgent supply of six advanced Hermes 900 drones from Elbit, known in the Israeli military as “Kochav” (Star). These systems are used for intelligence and attack purposes and form a core part of modern combat capabilities.
The deal included a broader plan to expand the fleet to 45 drones within 15 complete systems, with a total estimated value of approximately $1.3 billion, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s urgent demand amid the acute regional security tensions.
“Yasmin 3” project.. guided bombs in 3 months
In addition to the drone deal, the documents reveal an additional weapons project codenamed “Yasmin 3,” involving the production of 6,000 kits of guided bombs within just three months. This tight schedule reflects a high operational necessity and an urgent need for precision munitions amid current security challenges.
This project is part of the escalating defense cooperation between the two countries, which has also seen Israel transfer advanced defense systems to the UAE, including the Iron Dome and the “Magen Or” laser system, which helped intercept around 3,000 rockets and drones launched from Iran.

Elbit refuses to comment on customer information
In response to Haaretz’s investigation, Elbit Systems issued a statement saying it does not comment on commercial information related to its clients, and that the published data does not reflect the company’s commercial reality. However, it did not deny commercial activity with the UAE, leaving questions open about the nature and scale of these relations.
It is worth noting that the UAE had previously been revealed as a “secret buyer” in a major arms deal with Elbit worth $2.3 billion, which included advanced aircraft protection systems of the J-Music type, manufactured within the UAE as part of a joint venture approved by the Israeli government.
