European Plan to Undermine Trump’s Efforts in Ukraine

The American newspaper The Washington Post reported that Europe is exploring the possibility of deploying air and naval forces in Ukraine due to restrictions preventing the presence of ground troops on Ukrainian territory.

According to diplomatic sources cited by the newspaper, military groups from several European countries may arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks to assess the necessary troop numbers for any potential Ukrainian military deployment. The sources indicated a European interest in deploying naval and air forces, with some countries offering to contribute to patrols in the Black Sea and Ukrainian airspace.

Earlier in March, Bloomberg reported that French President Emmanuel Macron and the British Prime Minister are working to form a coalition of 37 countries to deploy “peacekeeping forces” in Ukraine and provide security guarantees for the government in Kyiv, amid U.S. efforts to impose a settlement with Russia.
