Explosion at Chemical Plant in Pakistan Causes Casualties and Damage in Faisalabad – Video

Fifteen people were killed and dozens injured on Friday morning following an explosion inside a chemical plant located in a residential area of Punjab Province in eastern Pakistan. The blast occurred earlier today in the industrial city of Faisalabad, triggering a large fire that spread through sections of the facility.

The force of the explosion caused the collapse of walls and roofs of several surrounding homes, according to police reports. Most of the victims were residents of those homes. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff said several individuals were in critical condition.

Search and rescue teams continue their operations at the site amid concerns that the number of casualties may rise, as several individuals are believed to remain trapped beneath the debris of the damaged structure.
