Egypt prepares to host a Palestinian conference on Gaza’s future
A senior Hamas official confirmed that Egypt is preparing to host a comprehensive Palestinian conference bringing together various factions to discuss the future of the Gaza Strip after the war. The official noted that Cairo has begun preliminary preparations to invite participants to this dialogue, which aims to promote Palestinian unity and outline a framework for managing Gaza in the coming stage.
The official added that the Egyptian side will oversee and sponsor the Palestinian meetings to discuss the formation of an independent committee or body composed of qualified figures to manage the Gaza Strip temporarily until the unification of authority across Palestinian territories. This initiative comes within the broader regional and international efforts to create favorable conditions for the post-war phase.
This development follows Hamas’ announcement of its approval to release all Israeli hostages under U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire proposal, while affirming its readiness to begin negotiations to address all outstanding issues.
