Hezbollah Deputy Leader Naim Qassem delivered a significant speech marking the anniversary of the party’s fallen leaders, stressing what he described as a phase of “strategic recovery.” He said Hezbollah has regained strength, continues to advance, and remains fully prepared to confront any Israeli aggression.
Resistance Achievements and Confrontation with the U.S.-Israeli Project
Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah’s achievements have been made in direct competition with what he called the “American–Israeli project.” He said the resistance remained resilient on the battlefield, preventing both Israel and its allies from reaching their political and military objectives.
He also pointed to statements made by U.S. officials that openly called for Hezbollah’s disarmament as part of Israel’s regional strategy. According to Qassem, disarming Hezbollah means stripping Lebanon of its strength and sovereignty.
Seven-Point Vision for Lebanon’s Sovereignty
Qassem outlined Hezbollah’s national and strategic vision in seven main points:
Recognizing the U.S.–Israeli threat as an existential danger to Lebanon.
Rejecting any attempt to disarm the resistance.
Confronting challenges with determination, describing the struggle as existential.
Holding Israel accountable for destabilizing Lebanon despite compliance with UN Resolution 1701.
Urging the Lebanese government to prioritize ending aggression, securing prisoner releases, ensuring Israeli withdrawal, and launching reconstruction efforts.
Preserving national unity and strengthening the Lebanese army while resisting Israeli aggression.
Building a strong Lebanon where resistance forms the foundation of national defense.
He called on the Lebanese government to place sovereignty at the top of its agenda, insisting that no true sovereignty exists while “any inch of land remains under occupation.”
Criticism of U.S. and Israeli Goals
Qassem argued that U.S. policies, combined with Israel’s ambitions for “Greater Israel,” aim to weaken Lebanon by dismantling its resistance. He reiterated that the Lebanese army should never be used against its own people but should instead stand united with the resistance in defending the country.
Message of Strength and Resilience
Qassem also recalled Hezbollah’s resilience in recent confrontations, including the massive funeral of leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, describing it as “a global testimony to the popular embrace of the resistance.”
Despite assassinations, military strikes, and international pressure, Qassem said Hezbollah remains strong, united with its people, and committed to defending Palestine as the central cause.
“Resistance is in our spirit, in our history, and in our strength,” Qassem declared. “No one can defeat us, and together, we will prevail.”
