The UAE State Security announced the dismantling of a network it described as “terrorist” and “funded and managed by Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran,” stating that the elements were operating inside the country under a fake commercial cover to infiltrate the national economy.
A statement published by the UAE State Security said that according to authorities, the network implemented a strategic plan coordinated with external parties linked to Hezbollah and Iran, violating economic regulations and laws against money laundering and terrorism financing.
The State Security stressed that any attempt to exploit the economy or civilian institutions for conspiratorial purposes will be firmly confronted, and no foreign interference threatening the state’s security and stability will be permitted.
The UAE announcement came two days after Kuwaiti Interior Ministry announced the seizure of a “terrorist group belonging to Hezbollah” comprising 14 Kuwaitis and two Lebanese nationals, alleging it planned to destabilize security and recruit members. Hezbollah “categorically” denied the Kuwaiti accusations, affirming it has no affiliated cells in Kuwait.
