Houthi Movement Statement: “We Will Respond to Escalation with Escalation”
The “Ansar Allah” movement in Yemen announced a new attack on the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier and several other warships in the Red Sea, in response to ongoing US airstrikes on Yemen.
In a statement, Houthi spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said that the movement’s forces continue to confront US airstrikes for the third consecutive week, noting that the clashes took place with US warships, including the “Truman” aircraft carrier, which was attacked three times in the past 24 hours using cruise missiles and drones.
Saree also emphasized that the movement will continue its defensive operations in support of Gaza, and will not stop until the agreement is implemented and the blockade on the Gaza Strip is lifted, stressing that escalation will be met with escalation.
