How Much Did Iran Pay Its Agents to Obtain Information About the Iron Dome?
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed details of a joint investigation by the Israeli Military Police, Shin Bet (Shabak), and the Serious Crimes Investigation Unit regarding the involvement of two Israeli soldiers in leaking classified information about the Israeli air defense system, the “Iron Dome,” to Iran.
The two soldiers, Yuri Eliasivov and Georgi Andreiv, both in their twenties, were charged with contacting a foreign agent, transferring classified information, and aiding the enemy during wartime. Eliasivov, identified as the main suspect in the operation, allegedly sent a video of the Iron Dome system to Iran, while Andreiv was accused of participating in espionage.
Eliasivov stated that he met the individual who recruited him while searching for work on social media. He explained that he was in financial distress and was paid $2,500 for the tasks he carried out, whereas Andreiv received only $50 for writing graffiti on a wall in Tel Aviv.
According to the newspaper, the charges against Eliasivov could lead to life imprisonment or even the death penalty, as the video he sent reportedly contained highly sensitive information that could significantly impact Israeli national security.
