International Warning Against Targeting Nuclear Sites in Iran
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, firmly rejected any threats against Iran’s nuclear facilities, warning that reported attacks could escalate tensions and lead to serious environmental consequences.
Grossi’s remarks came during his visit to Tehran on Wednesday, April 16, where he held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami. He also toured an exhibition showcasing Iran’s achievements in the nuclear energy field.
Grossi emphasized the IAEA’s willingness to play a constructive role in supporting the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States, which are being mediated by the Sultanate of Oman. The first round of these talks took place in Muscat on April 12 and was described by participants as constructive and calm.
