Iran talks and blockade.. Trump unsatisfied with Iranian proposal and demands suitable agreement

US President Donald Trump announced in a series of urgent statements that Iran is suffering from “chaos and major disagreement” among its leadership, and that it wants to reach an agreement but is unable to present a “suitable offer.”

Trump stressed the continuation of the “strong” naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, noting that the United States possesses “unprecedented quantities of ammunition,” and affirmed that he does not need authorization from Congress to continue military operations, because “no previous president sought prior approval.”

Iran fractured and internal chaos

Trump said Iranian leaders are “greatly perplexed” and suffering from “enormous chaos as a result of internal disagreement,” describing Iran’s ruling groups as “incredibly fractured.”

He added that there is a “major disagreement among the leadership” in Iran, and that they are “confused after the American strikes directed at them.” Despite this, Trump affirmed that the United States is still negotiating with them.

Trump demands “suitable” agreement and criticizes Italy and Spain

Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the proposal received by the Washington administration from Tehran, affirming that the Iranians “want to reach an agreement” but are “demanding things I cannot accept.”

He stressed that he is “not satisfied at this moment with Tehran’s offer,” adding that Iran must present the “right agreement,” explaining “I will either destroy the Iranians or I will reach an agreement with them.”

He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the position of Italy and Spain, considering that they “feel it is acceptable for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.”

Naval blockade continues and Strait of Hormuz “tightly closed”

Trump described the naval blockade on Iran as “great and very strong,” affirming that the United States is “tightly closing the Strait of Hormuz.”

He noted that the extension of the ceasefire gives the United States “additional time” regarding the 60-day deadline imposed by law to cease combat operations. He added that it is “unconstitutional.”

Unprecedented ammunition and no need for Congress authorization

Trump said the United States possesses “unprecedented quantities of ammunition,” and can also “bring ammunition from its full stockpiles around the world.”

He affirmed that he is not asking Congress for authorization to continue military operations, because “no previous president sought prior approval from Congress for war.”

Position on Kurds and relation to US economy

Trump criticized the Kurds because they “did not deliver the weapons Washington sent to reach Iran during the protests.”

He also predicted that “gas prices will drop once the war ends,” affirming that the United States is “moving toward achieving a great victory.”

He noted that the United States is communicating with Pakistan regarding negotiations, saying: “We just had a conversation with Iran, and let’s follow up on what will happen.”

The Iranian proposal

Tehran had previously sent a new proposal to Pakistani mediators, a step that could either restart negotiations with the United States or push them toward new escalation, amid direct risks to regional stability and global energy markets.

According to Reuters, the Iranian proposal includes responses to American demands, including a commitment not to resume activities at nuclear facilities that were bombed, and not to transfer enriched uranium during the negotiation period.
