Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia.. Riyadh hints at military action in response to energy targeting

Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia.. Riyadh: Tehran does not trust dialogue and exerts pressure

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed that the kingdom may resort to military action against Iran if necessary, in response to intensive Iranian attacks on oil and gas infrastructure.

In an interview with CNN, bin Farhan accused Tehran of attacking the “livelihoods of ordinary Saudis” and rejecting diplomacy. He said: “We will not hesitate to protect our country and our economic resources,” questioning the purpose behind targeting oil refineries.

He added that Iran does not trust dialogue with its neighbors but rather pressures them, stressing that these pressures will not succeed and Saudi Arabia will not succumb to them, and they will backfire.

Saudi Arabia and Gulf states have been subjected to Iranian missile and drone attacks since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran. The strikes targeted the “Samref” refinery in Yanbu and the Ras Tanura facility, causing partial operational disruption. Despite limited impact, these facilities hold major strategic importance, especially after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
