Iraqi Airborne Operation in Syria Leads to Arrest of Wanted Suspects with Coalition Support

The Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced the execution of an airborne operation in northeastern Syria, resulting in the arrest of two individuals wanted by Iraqi authorities, according to an official statement from the command.

The statement explained that the operation was conducted in coordination with Syrian authorities and with technical and logistical support from the International Coalition against ISIS. The mission was carried out by an air unit from the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency under the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, under the guidance and supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The Joint Operations Command emphasized that such specialized operations enhance states’ capacities to address cross-border security threats and protect national interests, highlighting the importance of cooperation with international partners to ensure the effective implementation of such missions.
