Iraqi missiles on an American base.

Iraqi armed factions said on Monday that they had targeted the American base in Al-Shaddadi, south of Al-Hasakah, Syria, “with a large missile salvo.”
The factions, affiliated with the so-called “Islamic Resistance in Iraq,” added that the bombing came “in response to the crimes committed by the enemy against our people in Gaza,” saying that the base was “directly hit.”
Several Iraqi factions recently issued statements announcing the targeting of American bases in the region, in response to the continued Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip since October 7th. The factions say that the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip are carried out with direct American support.
A security official from the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades also said that the group promised to launch more attacks on American forces in the region, and stated that the attacks that targeted American interests on Friday were just the beginning of new rules of engagement.
Since mid-October, many military bases in Iraq and Syria, which include American forces, have witnessed attacks carried out by Iranian-backed armed groups, with the aim of putting pressure on Washington, which strongly supports Tel Aviv.
