Israeli Army Redeploys Troops from Gaza, Increases Presence Along Egypt and Jordan Borders
The Israeli Army has begun a repositioning of its forces in the Gaza Strip amid recent regional developments, according to Israel Army Radio on Monday.
The report stated that the 98th Division has withdrawn from Gaza, where it had been engaged in ground operations. However, four other military divisions remain deployed in the area, albeit with reduced troop numbers, and continue to carry out operational duties.
In a related move, the Nahal Brigade has also exited Gaza and has been transferred to the West Bank as part of enhanced security measures. The brigade is replacing Home Front Command units, which have recently been reassigned to support rescue and relief efforts.
The radio also reported a significant increase in the number of Israeli forces along the borders with Egypt and Jordan. The deployment has reportedly tripled in size to strengthen preparedness against potential infiltration attempts.
