Israeli Army Statement on Airstrikes Targeting Yemen’s Hodeidah Port

The spokesperson for the Israeli military announced that Israeli forces conducted airstrikes targeting military sites and infrastructure affiliated with the “Ansar Allah” movement at the port of Hodeidah, located on Yemen’s western coast. The operation was described as a response to what Israel views as increasing threats to its territory and maritime interests.

According to the spokesperson, the strikes destroyed engineering equipment involved in the reconstruction of port facilities, in addition to fuel barrels and naval components allegedly used in military activities. The targeted infrastructure, the statement noted, was used by the group to develop offensive capabilities directed at Israel and its maritime assets in nearby waters.

The Israeli military added that Hodeidah Port has previously been targeted due to its alleged use as a transit point for weapons and military equipment employed in attacks against Israel and its regional allies.

The statement also indicated that Israeli surveillance had recently identified efforts by the group to rebuild what it described as “terror-related infrastructure” within the port, prompting renewed strikes against those facilities.

Furthermore, the spokesperson claimed that the group continues to utilize the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait to conduct attacks against commercial and cargo vessels operating in international waters.

The statement concluded with an assertion that the Israeli military remains committed to countering what it described as ongoing threats posed by the “Ansar Allah” movement, and that it will act against any potential source of danger to Israel’s security, regardless of geographic distance.
