Lady Gaga Joins the Second Season of Wednesday in a New and Mysterious Role

Netflix has officially confirmed that international artist Lady Gaga will join the cast of the second season of Wednesday, the series led by Jenna Ortega in the role of Wednesday Addams.

According to an official statement published on Netflix.com, Gaga will portray a new character named Rosalyn Rothwood, described as an eccentric teacher at Nevermore Academy who becomes involved with Wednesday as part of the upcoming season’s storyline.

Lady Gaga’s Role Announced During the Tudum Event

The announcement was made during the Tudum event, dedicated to Netflix fans, held on Saturday, May 31 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

To mark the reveal of her new role, Gaga appeared in a live performance inspired by the series’ aesthetic. Emerging from a coffin on stage accompanied by dancers in Addams Family-themed costumes, the coffin lid featured the phrase: “Here lies the Queen of Monsters”—a symbolic reference to her artistic persona.

Musical Performance Reflecting the Wednesday Universe

During the event, Lady Gaga performed two tracks from her upcoming album Mayhem: Zombieboy and Abracadabra.

She also delivered a brief dance sequence set to Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps, as a tribute to the widely recognized dance scene from the show’s first season.

Gaga’s Expanding On-Screen Career

This role marks the latest addition to Gaga’s growing portfolio in film and television. Her previous screen credits include:

Special Preview of Wednesday Season Two

A six-minute exclusive clip from the second season was released, featuring scenes in which Wednesday Addams spends her summer break held in the basement of a serial killer, portrayed by Haley Joel Osment.

The second season of Wednesday is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 6, 2025.
