India announces dismantling of pro-Pakistan cell in Kashmir

Lashkar-e-Taiba cell: India arrests 5 Pakistan-directed militants including leader wanted for 16 years
Indian counter-intelligence agencies announced on Monday the dismantling of a cell operating in the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region under the direction of Pakistani intelligence, arresting 5 militants including the cell leader wanted for 16 years.
India’s PTI news agency said the detainees belong to the “Lashkar-e-Taiba” group, with investigations revealing links between them and Pakistan’s ISI intelligence agency, which tasked them with carrying out operations and gathering information on Indian forces in Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana.
The discovery comes as part of a broader counter-intelligence operation launched on March 31, which resulted in the arrest of 18 people tasked with monitoring government facilities and railway stations, using video cameras equipped with solar panels to transfer recordings and coordinates to Pakistani intelligence.
In 2025, India succeeded in dismantling several cells linked to Pakistani intelligence in Punjab, where the latter enlisted video channel operators and influential bloggers on digital platforms to spread anti-India propaganda.
