Lebanese Foreign Ministry affirms rejection of interference in other countries’ affairs
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry summoned Iranian Chargé d’Affaires Tawfiq Samadi Khoshkhoo following statements regarding the Iranian embassy and Iran’s UN delegate, including claims about Iranians targeted at a hotel in the Rousheh area, which the ministry described as “contrary to the truth.”
During the meeting, Secretary-General of the ministry Abdul Sattar Issa requested official written responses from the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires regarding the statements. He cited examples of what he described as Iran’s disregard for Lebanese government decisions, including the recent statement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on “joint operations with Hezbollah.”

The official note delivered to the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires reaffirmed Lebanon’s rejection of any interference in its internal affairs. The ministry emphasized Lebanon’s full commitment to international law and stated that relations with Iran should be based on equality and respect for the principle of non-interference in other countries’ affairs.
