Lebanese Government Confirms Ban on Any Iranian Revolutionary Guard Activity and Responds to Allegations of Alignment with Israel

The Lebanese government has instructed security agencies to take all necessary measures to prevent any military or security activity by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Lebanon, ahead of their planned deportation, according to Information Minister Paul Marqus after a cabinet meeting.

Marqus noted that Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed the importance of preventing accusations that the government is aligning with Israeli demands, describing such statements as “irresponsible and inflammatory,” and warning that involving Lebanon in external repercussions constitutes a mistake.

The cabinet confirmed reinstating the requirement for Iranians to obtain visas to enter Lebanon as part of new security measures, according to a ministry statement.

The decision came as the Israeli military issued an unprecedented warning to residents of the southern suburbs of Beirut, urging citizens to evacuate their homes immediately toward the north and to avoid moving south.
