Lebanese security points to a link between Tripoli clashes, the Saint Elias attack, and Israeli escalation
A source within the Lebanese security forces explained that the clashes in the northern city of Tripoli were the result of an “organized operation” that was being prepared, indicating that the data points to a very serious attempt that was thwarted.
The source added that these movements cannot be separated from the attack on Saint Elias Church in Damascus days earlier, as well as the Israeli escalation in the region, suggesting a possible connection between the incidents in Tripoli and Damascus.
