Official source: Tripartite contact between Lebanon, Israel and America
Lebanon Israel talks: 357 dead in Wednesday strikes precede tonight’s contact
A Lebanese official source told Al Jazeera that the first contact between the ambassadors of Lebanon and Israel in Washington will take place today at 21:00 Beirut time, with the US ambassador in Beirut joining the call.
The source added that the contact will be tripartite and aims to set a date for the preparatory meeting for Israeli-Lebanese negotiations.
Beirut had witnessed a wave of Israeli strikes following the announcement of the truce between Iran and the United States, killing 357 people and injuring 1,223 others, according to a non-final toll from the Lebanese Health Ministry.
