Nabih Berri Condemns Israeli Airstrikes and Reaffirms National Unity

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes that targeted the outskirts of Beirut—particularly the southern suburb—as well as the town of Ain Qana in southern Lebanon, describing them as a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and international legitimacy.
In a statement, Berri affirmed that his stance aligns with that of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun regarding national and sovereign principles. He called for unified ranks in the face of what he described as ongoing aggression, which, according to him, does not target a specific region or sect, but all Lebanese people. He also noted that such attacks deeply affect the sentiments of Arabs and Muslims, especially during a major religious occasion like Eid al-Adha.
Berri emphasized that the Lebanese are accustomed to making sacrifices during such times, asserting that these assaults will not deter them from celebrating their holidays or defending their homeland.
It is worth noting that the Israeli military launched dozens of airstrikes targeting buildings in Beirut’s southern suburb and the town of Ain Qana in southern Lebanon, marking the most significant escalation since the ceasefire.
