New Governor Appointed for Lebanon’s Central Bank

In today’s cabinet session held at the presidential palace, Karim Saeed was elected as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, securing 17 ministerial votes.
Lebanese media had reported disagreements between the President and the Prime Minister, who preferred a different candidate over Saeed. However, President Joseph Aoun had the backing of the majority of ministers in this decision.
