Oglu: Whoever holds influence in Syria will determine the future of the region

Turkish analyst Muhannad Hafiz Oglu told i24news that controlling Syria means steering the region and its trajectory for the next hundred years, a period that will witness significant escalation and major surprises.

Oglu added that the current phase is a “bone-breaking” stage, indicating that Western, Arab countries, and Turkey will not allow Iran to win after years of planning to bring down the Assad regime. He stated that the majority of the Syrian people want “Ahmad al-Shara’a” as president, regardless of his jihadist background.

The Turkish analyst explained that major surprises are coming after the U.S. President’s visit to the region, predicting both drastic changes and significant escalation.
