Pentagon Develops 25 Weapons to Deter China

The U.S. Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has allocated more than $10.8 billion under the “SHOTCALLER” program to develop 25 new weapons aimed at strengthening defense capabilities and deterring China. According to official documents, the program focuses on producing long-range weapons and advanced systems for data collection across space, air, and sea domains.

The documents indicate that the largest portion of the funding is directed to the Advanced Innovative Technologies Program, which received $1.16 billion in the fiscal year 2026. This comes after nearly $9.6 billion had already been spent in previous years. The projects include code names such as Asgard, Bedlam, Lazarus, Oculus Prime, Pele, and Rolling Dice.

The Pentagon stated that the initiative is designed to address vulnerabilities identified during recent military exercises, while enhancing the U.S. ability to deliver faster and more precise strikes in the event of a potential confrontation in the Asia-Pacific region.
