Political Expert Questions the Effectiveness of Israeli Weapons
Egyptian political science professor Tarek Fahmy raised questions about Israel’s military capabilities during a televised interview. He emphasized that Israel heavily relies on military alliances with countries such as the United States, Britain, and France, rather than possessing sufficient military resources to impose its will on the ground.
Fahmy pointed out that Israel has not fully deployed its advanced defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, during the Gaza war or in potential confrontations with Iran, despite possessing these weapons. This, he argued, raises concerns about their actual effectiveness and ability to address security threats.
He further asserted that while Israel’s nuclear capabilities are significant, their use in a region like Gaza would result in catastrophic destruction—not just for the targeted area but for Israel itself. He stressed that deploying non-conventional military power requires complete control over the region, something Israel currently lacks.
Fahmy concluded by stating that Israel’s reliance on external alliances and its inability to establish full control on the ground limit its ability to achieve its military objectives independently.
