Iran Hit by Airstrikes, Israel Targeted by Missiles, Lebanon Faces Evacuation Warnings

Iran, for its part, confirmed through official media that explosions had occurred in Tehran, Isfahan and Karaj, with damage recorded at civilian and military facilities, in addition to reports of casualties, in a development that reflects the shift of the confrontation from the periphery to the heart of the Iranian state.

Mehr News Agency also reported that bodies had been recovered from beneath the rubble of buildings in eastern Tehran, while Fars News Agency spoke of explosions echoing across several cities in Isfahan province.

Missiles on Israel and large-scale alerts

On the opposing front, Israel has entered a state of comprehensive alert, with sirens activated in Tel Aviv, Eilat, Dimona, Beersheba and other areas following missile launches from Iran and Lebanon.

Israel’s Home Front Command confirmed that multiple missile attacks had been detected, while media outlets reported that a number of missiles were intercepted in the air, with powerful explosions heard in the skies over Tel Aviv.

Reports also indicated that the US administration is taking into account the repercussions of the escalation on energy prices and the global economy, in addition to its impact on the midterm elections.
