Russia clarifies the use of nuclear weapons

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, when asked about the possibility of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, revealed that everything is mentioned in Russia’s nuclear doctrine.

As Peskov responded to read the (nuclear doctrine), everything is written there.”

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated on September 3 that Russia can use nuclear weapons if their existence is threatened, and this is in the Russian military doctrine.

“.. I remind you that the Russian military doctrine, as well as a document such as the “Basics of State Policy in the Field of Nuclear Deterrence”, comprehensively defined all scenarios in which we could theoretically use nuclear weapons. Such scenarios of aggression against Russia and its allies using weapons of mass destruction or aggression using conventional weapons, when the very existence of the state is in danger.”

He also continued: “I remind you of this again and again – we will not deviate from these positions.”
