Russia condemns U.S. strikes as a “blow to diplomacy”; Araghchi heads to Moscow for coordination

Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia condemned the U.S. strikes, describing them as irresponsible and provocative acts against Iran, pointing out Washington’s violation of international law and global security interests on behalf of Israel.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Israel is the only country in the Middle East possessing nuclear weapons, emphasizing that, in cooperation with the United States, it targets Iran, which does not possess nuclear arms. She described the strikes as a blow to the negotiating table.

In a related development, the Iranian news agency IRNA reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Russia to meet President Putin and senior officials to discuss regional developments following the U.S. and Israeli strikes. Araghchi described the strikes as a “betrayal of diplomacy” and affirmed that Iran is taking necessary measures to protect its security.
