Russia Warns: Israeli Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities Could Lead to Severe Consequences

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned recent Israeli strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran, stating that such actions are unacceptable and pose a serious threat to regional stability.

Moscow described attempts to justify these attacks based on what it called “imaginary concerns” over Iran’s nuclear program as a blatant disregard for international law and the principles of collective security.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on Israel to immediately halt all attacks targeting Iranian nuclear sites, expressing particular concern about the situation surrounding the Bushehr nuclear power plant—a civilian facility under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The ministry emphasized that the most urgent priority at this stage is to prevent the region from sliding into a new cycle of violence. It warned that any further escalation could result in severe consequences for the security and stability of the Middle East.

Russia also reaffirmed its continued diplomatic and political efforts aimed at helping to resolve the growing conflict between Iran and Israel. The ministry urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue over confrontation.
