“Soul” is a joint Syrian-Egyptian film in a Korean festival

The Syrian-Egyptian film “Soul,” directed by Zahra Al-Boudi, will participate in the activities of the 19th Jecheon Film and Music Festival in South Korea, from August 10 to 15.
The film was co-produced by the young Syrian director Zahra Al-Budi and the Egyptian Mustafa Al-Kilani and directed by Zahra Al-Budi, and achieved remarkable success at the Ismailia Documentary and Short Film Festival 2023.
The film tells the story of “Gabe”, a young musician of determination who suffers from a rare disease “crystal bone syndrome”, which immobilized him and made him blind, and music became his way of life and his means to achieve his own impact in this world. Zahra Al-Budi and Carmen Kassem participated in the preparation of the scenario, and Fadi Zawan participated in the preparation of the scenario.
The world’s largest festival of its kind, Jecheon, is held in Jecheon, South Korea, to celebrate films related to music. The main program of the festival features music-themed documentaries from around the world.
On the record of the festival is the documentary film “Sally”, which won a number of international awards, the film “Small Dreams” and the film “Desires”.
