An Israeli drone carried out an airstrike targeting a motorcycle in the town of Al-Mansouri in South Lebanon, resulting in the death of one individual. Footage from the scene showed the site of the strike and the damaged motorcycle.

Field Tension in South Lebanon Between UNIFIL and Aytit Residents

In South Lebanon, specifically in the town of Aytit within the Tyre District, a confrontation occurred between local residents and a UNIFIL patrol that was operating without coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces. Residents requested that the patrol return with an official military escort, prompting a localized standoff.

The situation escalated into physical pushing and direct contact. In response, UNIFIL personnel deployed smoke and tear gas to disperse the crowd, which continued to demand the patrol’s return with Lebanese Army accompaniment.

In an official statement, UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said that several civilians in plain clothes intercepted peacekeepers near Wadi Jilo during a pre-planned patrol coordinated with the Lebanese Armed Forces in support of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. According to the statement, some individuals began throwing stones at the peacekeepers, prompting the use of smoke for protection. The Lebanese Army later arrived and brought the situation under control.
